If Brian's Royals better West Ham's result in their away game at Bristol City, his team will be playing Premier League football next season.
The boss was asked if he'd have one eye on proceedings at Ashton Gater, but said, "No, I won't.
"I'm sure a lot of people will, but I'll have two eyes on Reading.
"All we can do is try to get three points, nothing changes, the focus is the same. There's nothing else on the agenda but Nottingham Forest.
"I went to Forest's home match on Saturday, just our normal preparation for this game. It's just the next game."
The team's position in the League has come from a real togetherness in the squad, and Jason Roberts said after the Southampton game that this could well be the best dressing room he has ever been in.
Brian said, "It's a massive compliment to everyone in that dressing room. Jason has been there, seen it and done it, you can tell what kind of man he is, and for him to say it is a real compliment to everyone."
Roberts' arrival at Madejski Stadium came soon after the beginning of the TSI investment, and Brian said, "We wouldn't have got him otherwise. I've never been able to do that before, at a time when we just needed to give ourselves a bit of impetus. For the club, the team, it was massively important.
"You have to thank the money coming in, Anton's situation, the circumstances and the timing. There's no way we'd have done all of that otherwise."
